The Woodpecker ES5 is a high-performance electric surgical motor designed for modern dental practices requiring precision, sterility, and versatility. This dual-mode system seamlessly transitions between surgical and restorative procedures, offering clinicians the power and control of electric handpiece technology with the convenience of independent water and saline supply systems.

Unlike traditional air turbines that suffer from speed reduction under load, noise, and vibration, the ES5 utilizes a brushless motor delivering a constant 3.5 N·cm of torque. This means cutting efficiency remains consistent even under heavy load, providing up to 97.4% higher cutting efficiency compared to conventional turbines . The result is smoother, more precise preparations with significantly less noise and vibration for improved patient comfort.

The ES5’s dual water supply system is a standout feature for surgical applications . It offers both an internal 1000ml water tank for restorative procedures and an external saline irrigation line for sterile surgical use. The external, disposable irrigation source allows for quick access to sterile saline solution during periodontal surgery, apical surgery, and tooth extraction, reducing postoperative infection risk. The handpiece also incorporates anti-suck-back technology within the head to prevent blood and bacteria from entering the inner rotor, eliminating cross-contamination risks.

The device features a user-friendly 5-inch color touch screen with dedicated display interfaces for surgical (green) and restorative (blue) modes. Clinicians can choose from 2 working modes, 8 speed ratios (Surgical: 1:1, 1:3, 1:4.2, 1:5; Restorative: 16:1, 1:1, 1:4.2, 1:5), and 6 pre-set programmable programs. An IPX6 waterproof multifunctional foot pedal provides hands-free control during procedures.
