Note: The 1st edition Woodpex X does NOT have the MHN canal finder function. The Woodpex X MHN is the 2nd edition with this advanced feature .
The Woodpecker Woodpex X MHN is the second-generation apex locator that introduces an innovative MHN Mode – a groundbreaking electronic method developed alongside the expertise of Professor Mohammad Hossein Nekoofar .
What is MHN Mode? – The MHN mode utilizes capacitance measurement technology to significantly enhance signal detection sensitivity. When integrated with clinical knowledge of pulp chamber morphology, magnification, X-rays, and CBCT images, this mode becomes instrumental in locating concealed root canal entrances that traditional apex locators might miss .
Locates Hidden Canals – The MHN mode effectively locates pulp chambers even when they are partially calcified and present as disc-like structures. It also helps with finding calcified canals, making it an invaluable tool for complex endodontic cases .
Technical Advantages – The Woodpex X features a cutting-edge digital circuit with information processing speed that is double that of the Woodpex V . The 3.8-inch LCD screen provides clear visual display of measurements.
Practical Guidance – According to the official manual, MHN mode readings help clinicians identify canal orifice locations: readings between 2.00-3.00 indicate potential orifice locations requiring ultrasonic removal of dentin, while readings above 3.00 indicate the exact orifice location where a hand file can enter .
Important Note – The MHN mode is an auxiliary function and should be used as an adjunct to clinical judgment, not as a standalone diagnostic tool .
CE certified and backed by a 12-month warranty, the Woodpecker Woodpex X MHN delivers advanced canal location capabilities for modern endodontic practices.
